SCULPTURE > IMMIGRANTS
Immigrants is an edition of 24 ceramic bird forms addressing immigration in a neutral state. Immigrants and migration are inherently neither good nor bad. Uncountable numbers of animals and people moving is natural to the course of time, space and life on this planet. We might appreciate the true character of immigrants as we appreciate the simple nature of birds in migration to better habitat.
The prolific sitings of birds in everyday life creates an opportunity for reminding and revisiting a concept or feeling. By creating an edition of these bird forms there is a practice and process of remembering the normalcy of migration.
This work is directly related to the conflict between the United States government and Latin American immigrants.
